A dating app built around going out. People match on shared interests, chat, and book movies, restaurants and events together without leaving the app. I was the senior UX designer in a team of three.
Client:
Confidential client · USA
Role:
Senior UX Designer · team of 3
Platform:
Mobile app

Context:
A client in the USA wanted a dating app where a match can turn into a plan straight away. People add the things they like doing, match with others who share them, chat, and then book movie tickets, a restaurant table or an event together in the same app. I was the senior UX designer in a team of three, in 2025.
Problem:
Going on a date usually takes several apps: one to find a match, then others to book a restaurant, a movie or an event. That’s a lot of switching and effort before two people even meet.
Constraints:
Two products in one: a dating app and a booking app. Matching, chat and booking had to feel like one journey, not three apps stitched together.
Process:
1. Onboarding: three short screens explain the idea (find people, chat, book shows), then sign-up or login. 2. Interests and profile: users pick interests across creativity, sports and going out, which drive matching. A premium offer gives more matches, and profiles support posts and a shareable QR code. 3. Matching and chat: browse people who share your interests, view full profiles, see who liked you, then start a chat. 4. Discover and book: one search across people, movies, events, places and restaurants, with movie checkout and table reservations inside the app.
Decision:
Make shared interests the starting point. People match on what they actually want to do, then chat and book it in the same place, so a match becomes a plan without switching apps.
Outcome:
We delivered the full UX flows and UI for an app that takes people from a match to a booked night out in one place.
